tl;dr: I lead the development of the WebVR experience in Javascript using ThreeJS (WebGL) and WebAudio.
To promote the launch of Google WebVR experiments (part of Experiments with Google) Google Creative Labs commissioned Plan8 to create a WebVR experiment focusing on audio. The result was Sonic Umbrella–a VR experience where the user is caught in a virtual rainstorm of everything from rubber duckies to drum sets, each creating a unique sonic experience as the objects ricochet off of their umbrella.. I led the development of the experience. The experiment is open source and can be found on github.
In April 2017 Sonic Umbrella was released alongside other WebVR experiments as part of Google’s WebVR Experiments platform. It received a FWA Site of the Day award on 26th of April 2017.
